Screening times will be announced soon.
The European Film Festival of the Franco-German cultural channel ARTE ZDF comes to Athens for the first time. Films from this year’s multifaceted lineup will be presented at the Onassis Stegi over three days filled with cinema, emotions, and encounters.
ArteKino Festival seeks out the boldest and most compelling new voices in European cinema. With screenings in cities across Europe, as well as online through arte.tv and ARTE Cinéma on YouTube, available in 32 countries, the festival becomes an open space for meeting, discovery, and discussion. In its eleventh edition, it presents 12 European films made in seven languages: French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Romanian.
Three of them will be screened on the Upper Stage of the Onassis Stegi in the presence of their creative teams. "L’Été l’éternité" [Our Eternal Summer] by Emilie Aussel, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, invites us to discover a carefree summer, heartbreaking loss, and the people who help us grow. In "Si nous habitons un éclair" [The Heart of Eternity] by Louise Chevillote, a young woman searches for her lost mother, guided by friends, poets, and the power of cinema. In "Una película de miedo" [Scary Movie] by Sergio Oksman, a documentary filmmaker and his son stay in an empty hotel like the one in "The Shining".
And because the audience here is not simply confined to the role of spectator, it is invited to vote for the Audience Award, with the support of Chanel.
An initiative of ARTE France Cinéma and ARTE GEIE, supported by Creative Europe.
