Where does the inspiration for his powerful imagery come from? How does he build his dystopian worlds? How does he choose the characters he wants to film? On the occasion of the Greek premiere of his latest feature film, "Sacrifice", the French filmmaker of Greek descent takes to the Onassis Stegi Main Stage for a unique masterclass moderated by award-winning director Argyris Papadimitropoulos.

The session will offer an in-depth exploration of Gavras’ creative process and filmography, from his feature debut "Our Day Will Come", starring French actor Vincent Cassel, to the contemporary tragedy "Athena", and from his music video for Jamie xx’s “Gosh” to the epic and uncompromising "Gener8ion".

Visual material will be screened throughout the masterclass, sparking a creative and wide-ranging discussion on the power of cinema and the impact of the image.
