ODD—Onassis Dance Days 2027

At the heart of this year’s Onassis Dance Days (ODD) is "Landless", the first joint creation by Christos Papadopoulos and Georgios Kotsifakis. Two Greek artists with international careers look at the body as an unmapped territory, with oceans, cliffs, hidden passages, and places that appear only when someone else is looking at them. From its world premiere in Lugano to its journey across major European stages, "Landless", co-produced by Onassis Stegi, won over the international press, which described it as “human architecture in motion” and as a choreography in which “every micro movement becomes a poetic act and a revelation.”

This year’s ODD program also includes works that emerged from the research of two Onassis AiR Fellows from the previous year. In "Echo Chamber", Christiana Kosiari transforms the stage into a space of confession, where the personal diary meets digital dystopia in an existential stand-up dramedy.

With "The Rashomon Effect", Konstantinos Papanikolaou examines how our perception of a work is shaped. The same choreographic solo is presented twice, with the narrative changing each time and different observers accompanying it. This process highlights the paradoxical nature of perception: although the audience watches the same performance, its understanding of it changes. The choreography explores the power of interpretation and the interaction between personal experience and expertise, inviting spectators to notice the invisible mechanisms that shape meaning.

Two more works join the five-day program: Sofia Mavragani’s explosive duet "GLORIOUS EPIC", first presented in 2024 and continuing its international journey, and "IT’S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE", Chara Kotsali’s widely traveled dance marathon, first seen at ODD 2025 and now returning for just a few performances in Athens before heading to London’s Sadler’s Wells as a Bloom Prize nominee within The Rose International Dance Prize 2027.
