2B – Abduction and Observation | Yiannis Niarros & NYX

The Onassis Stegi Upper Stage is transformed into a strange laboratory simulating human life. Yiannis Niarros embodies a human subject under constant observation by three mysterious researcher super-entities. Before our eyes, an entire life unfolds in condensed form: birth, desire, love, ambition, decay, death, stages of a ritual in which sound, image, and stimuli trigger each transformation. Soon, however, the boundaries collapse. Who is ultimately studying whom? The observer and the observed begin to blur. Humanity cannot be explained.

Following “Matchbox: The Musical” and “A Voracious Shadow,” Yiannis Niarros returns to the Onassis Stegi. This time, together with NYX and three years after their first musical theater experiment, “NYX: Los Istorias Periergas,” they offer a new immersive experience at the limits of Kafkaesque farce. Three musicians on stage, video that responds live to sound, and a constantly shifting scenic universe create a world somewhere between science fiction, Dadaist performance, and poetic allegory.

“2B – Abduction and Observation” is a metaphysical techno odyssey, a pseudo-scientific ritual about memory, desire, creation, and our inability to explain why life is worth living.
