Yiannis Niarros
Actor and musician Yiannis Niarros was born in Athens and has family roots in Mytilene on the island of Lesbos. He graduated from the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece. On stage, he has appeared, among others, in the productions “Alcestis,” “A Voracious Shadow,” “Merde!”, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” “Oresteia,” “Amadeus,” “The Gamblers,” “The Big Bed,” “Sleep, Stella,” “1821—The Revue,” “Demons,” “Quay West,” “Crime and Punishment,” and “Penthesilea.”
In 2018, he was honored with the “Dimitris Horn” Best Male Actor Theater Award for his performance as Yorgos Yerakaris in the play “Sleep, Stella” (2017). In 2019, he was awarded the “Athinorama” magazine Best Male Performance for his role as Christopher in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” (2018).
His film credits include “One Breath [Ein Atem]” (2015), “Mythopathy [Notias]” (2016), “Defunct” (2019), “Sisters Apart” (2020), “Mediterraneo: The Law of the Sea” (2021), “Embryo Larva Butterfly” (2021), “Βrando with a Glass Eye” (2022), and “Broken Vein” (2025).
In 2019, together with Vasilis Magouliotis, he co-wrote and co-directed “Life Before Grammys.” In 2022, he co-composed the music (together with Alexandros Livitsanos) and directed “Matchbox: The Musical,” which was presented on the Main Stage of Onassis Stegi. In 2023, he directed and starred in “Nyx: Los Historias Perierjas.”
