Penelope Iliaskou is an Onassis AiR program mentor for 2025-26.

Penelope Iliaskou is a dance curator, organizer of contemporary dance projects, and educator working at the intersection of music and movement. She has an academic background in classical philology and linguistics (National Kapodistrian University of Athens) and in music and dance (Institut de Rythmique Jaques-Dalcroze, Brussels – Onassis Foundation scholarship).

Her research and practice around the interpretation, dramaturgy, and philosophy of rhythm extend across the fields of education, image, text, choreography, and cultural management.

As Artistic Director of the I. and R. Duncan Dance Research Center (DDRC) from 2000 to 2023, she designed, curated, and co-curated a wide range of local and international interdisciplinary projects that responded to the scale and needs of the Center and tested collective ways of planning, creating, and learning.
