CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva

Opened in 2021, CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva is a center for the creation and practice of the performing arts, located in Porto on the former site of the José Gomes Ferreira Primary School. Part of the Performing Arts Department of Ágora – Culture and Sport of Porto, alongside Teatro Municipal do Porto (TMP) and DDD – Festival Dias da Dança, CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva has established itself as a space for experimentation, research, and artistic development, providing ongoing support for artistic creation rooted in Porto.

The project is structured around three main areas: artist residencies, regular activities, and the provision of spaces. Through the “Reclamar Tempo,” “Artistic Residencies,” and “Residencies for Creation and Technical Experimentation” programs, it supports local, national, and international performing arts projects by providing working conditions, critical guidance, and time for creative development.

Throughout the week, CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva organizes regular artistic practice sessions, aimed primarily at professionals and advanced-level students. At the same time, its studios and workspaces are made available for independent use, supporting projects at different stages of development.

CAMPUS Paulo Cunha e Silva also participates in a range of international networks and partnerships connected to the performing arts, fostering the exchange of artists, practices, and ideas between Porto and other European contexts.
