Ágora – Cultura e Desporto do Porto | The Contemporary Art Direction (DAC)

The Contemporary Art Direction (DAC) comprises Galeria Municipal do Porto, Pláka platform, and Fonoteca Municipal do Porto (FMP). Galeria Municipal do Porto (GMP) is the city’s contemporary art gallery, focusing on 21st century arts and culture. Since 2014, GMP and has been hosting local, national and international artists to present exhibitions as well as live art, sound and moving image programmes. Pláka, the city’s funding body for contemporary art, manages production and internationalization grants, artistic residencies in Porto and abroad, as well as exchange programs and the city’s artist studio complex. FMP is a public vinyl library holding over 35 thousand records, spanning six decades of phonographic production, from field recordings to pop music. FMP’s activities encourage artists and the local community to engage with the collection.
