Natalia Manta

Natalia Manta is a visual artist living and working in Athens. She studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts, where she also completed her master’s degree in Fine Arts. Manta employs different materials and media such as metal, clay, light-sensitive chemicals, and video projections. She cooperates and interacts with artists spanning the width of the disciplinary spectrum – visual arts, music, theater, performance artists. Selected artists who she had collaborated with in multimedia performances are the director Thodoris Ambazis, the choreographer Androniki Marathaki, and the musicians Jannis Anastasakis, Evi Filippou, Hayden Chisholm, Sebastian Gramss, Michalis Siganidis, Savina Yannatou, Harris Lambrakis, and Elena Kakaliagou.

Between 2017 and 2020 she taught sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts. Her work has been internationally exhibited in various solo and group shows. Selected exhibitions she has participated in are: “HANDMADE: On the Social Dimension of Craft,” a collaboration between the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens (ΕΜΣΤ) and the Schwarz Foundation (Munich/Athens/Samos), Art Space Pythagorion, Samos, Greece, 2022; “Confinements,” Dromokaiteio Psychiatric Hospital, Athens, Greece, 2022; “Re:Start,” Korean International Ceramic Biennale, Gyeonggi Museum, South Korea, 2021; “APOTROPAION,” The Sotiris Felios Collection, Athens, Greece, 2021. Her works can be found in private collections. She has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS (2021).
