Following its world premiere in the “Un Certain Regard” competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival as part of the official selection, Konstantina Kotzamani’s highly anticipated feature-length debut arrives at Onassis Stegi. An Onassis Culture Co-production.

Seventeen-year-old Akame dreams of becoming a mermaid. In the competitive environment of the boarding school and the scintillating underwater universe of aquariums, she learns to hold her breath while swimming alongside real sharks. Between apnea training and exhausting choreographies, the young heroine discovers first love and unleashes her hidden voice—a voice as powerful as that of the mythical siren. Titanic Ocean is an evocative, surreal coming-of-age journey from a filmmaker supported by the Onassis Foundation, whose work has gained significant international recognition at major film festivals, including Cannes, Venice, Berlin, and Locarno.
