Xenia Koghilaki

Xenia Koghilaki works in the field of performing arts as a dancer and choreographer. Her practice engages with the re-examination of the moving body’s aesthetic, political, and social aspects. She is a graduate of the Greek National School of Dance and the Department of Architecture at the University of Patras. Since 2019, she has lived and worked in Berlin, where she completed her postgraduate studies at the MA Solo/Dance/Authorship (MA SODA) program of the Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin (HZT-Berlin/UDK).

Since 2023, Xenia has been developing a series of choreographic works exploring forms of collective discharge through movement, resulting in the works “Bang Bang Bodies” (Tanztage Berlin 2023), “Slamming” (Onassis Dance Days 2024), and “KOPANIMA” (Sophiensæle, Berlin 2024). Her work has also been presented at international festivals and venues across Europe, such as [8:tension] Young Choreographers’ Series at ImPulsTanz, Santarcangelo Festival, Oktoberdans, SAAL Biennaal, Gessnerallee, La Briqueterie CDCN, Dansehallerne, and Kalamata International Dance Festival, among others.

As a dancer, she has collaborated with artists such as Kat Válastur (on the works “Strong-Born,” “Diana Even,” and “The FarNear”), Armin Hokmi, and André Uerba, performing in festivals and theaters across Europe.

Her artistic research has been supported by Dachverband Tanz Deutschland’s scholarship program, Goethe-Institut Berlin, Fonds Darstellende Künste in collaboration with HAU-Berlin, and the Hellenic Ministry of Culture. She was awarded a danceWEB Scholarship in 2021 and received the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Artist Fellowship by ARTWORKS in 2022. She is part of the Visiting Artist Programme 2025-2027.

Xenia Koghilaki is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2023/24 within the framework of the Transmissions project, that is supported by the EEA Grants and the Norwegian Financial Mechanisms 2014-2021 and for 2026/27.
