Lina Evgeni

Dr. Lina Evgeni is a reproductive biologist and founder and director of the CRYOGONIA sperm cryopreservation bank.

She graduated from the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), ranking first among the candidates admitted in her year. She then pursued postgraduate studies with a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation at the University of Nottingham Medical School, UK, where she was awarded an M.Phil. During her postgraduate studies, she trained at the andrology laboratory of England’s leading hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre, in techniques for assessing basic and functional parameters, as well as in applications of semen and testicular tissue cryopreservation.

She holds a PhD from the Department of Medicine at the Democritus University of Thrace and is a scientific associate of the postgraduate program “Human Reproduction,” in which she has participated since its inception, delivering lectures and practical laboratory training. She is also actively involved in teaching in postgraduate programs at the Medical School of NKUA, the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of West Attica.

She is certified by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) as a trainer in basic semen analysis. As part of her scientific work, she actively participates in educational seminars, speaks at conferences, and authors scientific articles and textbooks. Her first book on the function of male semen was published in 2010, in Greek.

Part of her research has been included in the 6th Edition of the World Health Organization’s “WHO laboratory manual for the examination and processing of human semen” (2021), marking the first Greek contribution to the new global reference limits for basic semen parameters.

She provides modernized and personalized services to couples facing male-factor infertility, as well as to single women who wish to experience the joy of motherhood.
