Kalos&Klio

Kalos&Klio, a Greek artist duo based in Thessaloniki, merges traditional and contemporary practices to create a hybrid visual language that transcends cultural and temporal boundaries. Their work spans handwoven rugs, prints, digital photography, sculptures, installations, AR, and 3D animation, exploring themes like human rights, warfare, immigration, and democratic struggles. By blending folk and pop cultural symbols with contemporary references, they foster dialogue between past and present, local and global, and high and low cultural spheres. Their research-driven practice revives Eastern motifs, reflecting on global interconnectedness and the enduring relevance of traditional symbols.

Klio Tantalidis holds an MFA in Digital Arts from the University of Chicago (full scholarship), an MA in Printmaking from the Governors State University, USA, and a BFA in Painting (summa cum laude) from Hanze University, The Netherlands. Christos Kalos holds a BA in Photography from ESP, Thessaloniki, and studied painting at Boston College, UK. Their works are held in notable collections across Greece and internationally.
