Aristodimos Komninos

Aristodimos Komninos works at the creative intersection of spatial design and information technology. He is currently an AI & XR Product Manager at Trimble SketchUp, where he leads the development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and extended reality (XR) solutions. His goal is to redefine practices in architecture and construction worldwide by democratizing 3D modeling and design.

His academic career began at the National Technical University of Athens (Diploma in Architecture) and continued at MIT (SMArchS in Architecture and Urbanism), supported by an Onassis Foundation scholarship. Before transitioning to Product Management, he worked as an architect and urban planner at leading international firms, including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in London, Robert Stern in New York, and Serie Architects in Mumbai.

His research on technology in architectural design has been presented at international conferences, such as the GenAI Summit, and has been published in prestigious media outlets, including “Architectural Technology Journal” and “Dezeen.”

As an active member of the Onassis Scholars’ community, he co-organized the international conference “AUTONOMA: Towards the Collective City” at the Onassis Stegi in 2016, and has participated as a mentor and coordinator in initiatives such as Onassis ONX and Tipping Point.

He is a very happy husband to fellow scholar Eleni Katrini and a devoted (and proudly doting) father to Natalia.
