Thank you to all the Plásmata of the city who came and dreamed with us at Pedion tou Areos
Plásmata 3 was more than just an exhibition; it was a transformative experience. And for a little while, we, too, became different kinds of creatures.

For three weeks, hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world, of all ages, encountered 25 hybrid works—digital and analog—by Greek and international artists. Works that waited for us patiently, discreetly, nestled among the flowerbeds and foliage of Pedion tou Areos park, ready to be discovered through an unusual kind of promenade. Twenty days later, we are no longer the same. We became part of new daily life narratives, discussed with the neighborhood’s residents, listened to the park’s pulse, were swept away by the mesmerizing performance of Yoann Bourgeois, and redefined our relationship with dreams and reality.

We relived beloved films.
A journey that began with a landing in the imaginary land of Oz and ended in the forest neighborhood of Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. The always full-packed film screenings of Plásmata made our Athenian nights a little more magical, bringing cherished stories born from imagination or the balconies of Athens apartment blocks to the big screen.
The Plásmata spoke to us. And we listened during thought-provoking conversations.
How would we like to eat, fall in love, and play in the future? How do working souvenirs rest? Who are our neighbors, and how can we see them through someone else’s eyes? How do we engage with public space through artistic and curatorial practices? Researchers, professionals, artists, activists, local residents, organized groups, and passersby took part in nine open discussions that created room for reflection and connection, reinforcing the role of the park not only as a place for strolling but also as a space for vibrant dialogue.
The STEGI.RADIO booth became the city’s new meeting point.
Stories and sounds from Brazil to Africa and from the Balkans to contemporary Athens merged into one sonic universe. With over 70 producers and DJs, live sets, and this year’s African Voices Festival, STEGI.RADIO became the park’s heartbeat, bringing us even closer to the city’s music community. Whether lying on the grass with the Punkthenon in the background or dancing at the booth’s impromptu dancefloor, visitors and locals paused—even briefly—to listen, move, and share a moment. Through sound, new connections and collective experiences were created. And for a few days, Pedion tou Areos became a different, more rhythmic version of the city.
We filled up on culinary experiences.
Before or after each walk through the exhibition’s works, a stop at the Food Corner was almost always essential. Under the park’s tree shade, we shared tastes from every corner of the world: authentic Egyptian falafel from Falafel Al Sharq, mouth-watering burgers from Guerilla Chef Burger, and Ethiopian and Ghanaian dishes at Vana Ba Afrika Canteen. We cooled off with juices and snacks from the Gardenia Refreshment Kiosk and enjoyed cocktails at the Apoteka x STEGI.RADIO Bar, always accompanied by music from the booth. Pedion tou Areos became a crossroads of flavors, a small journey through different cuisines.

We got to know the neighborhood’s businesses.
“The Creatures around Plásmata 3” turned Pedion tou Areos into a living gateway to the surrounding neighborhoods, local businesses, and their people. Through workshops for small and medium-sized enterprises in the area and a specially designed phygital augmented reality (AR) experience, curated by ESTO Association and supported by Afrosocially, exhibition visitors discovered the park’s surrounding neighborhoods in new ways—from Exarchia and Kypseli to Victoria Square.
And finally, the exhibition traveled across every corner of the analog and digital world.
Onassis Stegi’s social media overflowed with love, excitement, and emotion.
Plásmata 3 gathered more than 120,000 likes and hearts, along with hundreds of comments filled with support, admiration, and personal stories. Every word, every reaction, every share was further proof that something meaningful happened there, at Pedion tou Areos.
We are filled with gratitude for all that we experienced—and for experiencing it with you.
One thing is for sure: we will meet again.
Until then... #Plásmata3

Caring for public space remained a top priority throughout the exhibition. After its conclusion, and in consultation with the relevant authorities, the Onassis Stegi team fully restored Pedion tou Areos, ensuring that the park remained fully functional and clean, with respect for its identity and importance as a public space—a place of daily rest and coexistence in the city.
