Plásmata 3 | Flavors
From the neighborhood around Pedion tou Areos into the park itself. Pop-up bars, street food trucks, and flavors that have grown up in the city. Members of the communities from Ghana, Ethiopia, and Morocco in Athens cook for those seeking a new culinary adventure, while the park’s historic refreshment kiosk is there for a stop along your exhibition tour. The everyday is transformed into something magical filled with Plásmata who are eager to explore, discover, and experience new things. Culinary and otherwise.

“Apoteka,” the bar that put Victoria Square back on the map for the Athenians, with a vibe straight out of an 80s film, joins forces with STEGI.RADIO for a pop-up bar at Plásmata. From the custom-made blue bar to its signature ‘black’ music and eclectic crowd, “Apoteka” brings the energy of its neighborhood into a public space that is finding its voice again.
Fahd and the “Guerilla Chef Burger” team bring to Plásmata the all-time classic burgers from Exarcheia and Neos Kosmos, along with a specially made Lebanese-inspired burger—a tribute to the chef’s roots. Eastern aroma and street culture, flavors that grew up in the city, now served in Athens’ liveliest urban park.
The heart of the park in its natural habitat. “Gardenia” isn’t just the café of Pedion tou Areos—it is memory, and a meeting point for Athenians. Naturally, it is also a landmark on the Plásmata map for those who want a quick break under the trees to enjoy coffee, juice, slushies, beer, ice cream, hot dogs, and waffles. Ideal for those wandering among the Plásmata in the park or catching a movie at the festival’s open-air cinema.
From Liosion Street with love—and lots of tahini. “Falafel Al Sharq” is a staple for anyone moving through the city center. A small spot that became a local landmark for its authentic, crispy falafel—and more. At Plásmata, it brings its signature flavors: the beloved falafel and an Egyptian chicken dish that brings the Middle East into the Athenian urban landscape. Simple but rich flavors, ideal for grabbing on the go, wandering through the park, and traveling to magical places—without ever leaving Liosion Street.
The Vana Ba Africa non-profit group brings to Plásmata flavors from the cultural heritage of Africa—more specifically, communities from Ghana, Ethiopia, and Morocco. Three African restaurants from Kypseli serve dishes with intense aromas and spicy tastes, creating a culinary dialogue that connects the area with global cultural heritage. It is ideal for those looking to discover new flavors, learn about other cultures, and embark on a gastronomic adventure while taking in the unique energy of the park.
