Danae Io | Translation as Confession (working title)

During her residency at Onassis AiR, Danae Io will work with the radio scripts of filmmaker Tonia Marketaki for her 1989 show “Ypokeimenika kai Omologimena” (Subjective and Confessed), broadcast on the left-wing radio station “902 Aristera sta FM”. Io will focus on the role of writing and translation in Marketaki’s filmmaking practice. Engaging with translation as artistic research, she will develop a new work in response to the filmmaker’s radio scripts, addressing language, agency, and histories.
