Danae Io

Danae Io works in moving image, sculpture, and text. Her practice often takes as its focus the ways histories are narrativized and shaped by intangible means. Recent solo exhibitions have been presented at Akwa Ibom, Athens (2025) and State of Concept, Athens (2023). She has also participated in exhibitions and screenings at the Contemporary Greek Art Institute (ISET) – National Gallery, Athens (2026); beau travail, Stockholm (2025); EMST – National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (2025); Kunstverein Braunschweig (2025); e-flux Screening Room, New York (2025); the New Museum with DESTE Foundation, Athens (2025); Doclisboa (2024); the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2023); and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2023), among others.

Danae Io is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2026/27.
