Pedro Huet | perceptual landscape

Part of an ongoing body of work, “perceptual landscape” continues an investigation into the unstable relationship between image, movement, and perception. Working across video, sculpture, or movement, his works emerge through encounters with places where different temporalities, imaginaries, and forms of inhabiting remain in tension.

Urban, natural, and industrial landscapes appear not as subjects but as surfaces onto which histories, technologies, and systems of extraction are continuously projected. Moving through these spaces, the work reflects on the ways digital forms increasingly shape the experience of looking, navigating, and remembering, blurring distinctions between the rendered and the filmed, the simulated and the tangible. Images unfold as thresholds rather than representations, producing moments of uncertainty in which perception oscillates between hypnosis, disorientation, and contemplation.

At the center of the work lies a growing interest in the instant that precedes an action: before an attack, a fall, an embrace, or an act of disobedience. Attention shifts towards the sequences of movement that make these moments possible, considering gesture as both signifier and structure. Through this lens, choreography emerges as an algorithm of gestures where each transition holds the potential to become image, performance, or event.
