ARCAthens is a non-profit arts organization founded in 2017 that supports artistic and curatorial research through international exchange. Operating between Athens and New York, it develops and leads residency programs for visual artists, curators, and scholars, providing time, space, and institutional support for the development of research and new ideas.
Its Athens Residency is a competitive, international, application-based program, with fellows selected through open calls and peer review.
In parallel, the NOLA/NYC Research Fellowship is a focused program for Greece- and Cyprus-based practitioners, extending this model across New Orleans, New York, and Sag Harbor through a multi-site residency that emphasizes curatorial research, local engagement, and sustained dialogue between contexts.
ARCAthens’ programming prioritizes research-driven practices and long-term exchange. Fellows are supported through stipends, accommodation, travel costs, and access to a wide network of cultural partners and institutions, while participating in studio visits, public presentations, and ongoing dialogue across contexts.
With a permanent base in Athens and an expanding international presence, ARCAthens continues to develop as a platform for critical inquiry and cross-cultural dialogue in the arts.
