Nicole Economides

Nicole Economides (b. 1992) lives and works between Athens and New York. She holds an MFA from Parsons School of Design, The New School, New York, and a BFA from the University of Ioannina, Greece. Economides has presented her work in various solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Her solo shows include “Sunday Afternoon” and “Illusion of Home” at Callirrhoë, both presented in 2024, the latter as part of the Athens Photo Festival. Her group exhibitions include “Toward a Sentence” at NARS Foundation, New York (2026); “Contemporary Womanhood 1.0: Present Femininities” at MOMus, Athens (2023); “A Scattering of Salts” at Deree – The American College of Greece, Athens (2023); “Bestiary: Artefacts, Allegories, Representations” at Crux Galerie, Athens (2023); “Faces of a Hero” at the SNFCC, Athens, and Lincoln Center, New York (2021); “Life-Giving Art: 9 Women Artists of the Diaspora” at Queens College, City University of New York, (2020); “We Are Here to Serve You” at Arnold and Sheila Aronson Galleries, New York (2020); “Phantom Ground” at 25 East Gallery, New York (2018); “While We Work: A Temporary State of Affairs” at Agora Rollberg, Berlin (2016); and “Inspire: Effective Spaces” at Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki (2015). Economides has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Hopper Prize (2024), ARTWORKS – Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship (2022) and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for Painters (2018).

Nicole Economides is a participant of the Onassis AiR Extended Research Residencies program for 2026/27.
