Maria Bregianni

Maria Bregianni was born and raised in Kalamata, Greece. She studied dance at the Greek National School of Dance, graduating in 2011, and earned an integrated master’s degree in chemical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2014. In 2024, she completed a master’s degree in computational mechanics at NTUA.
As a dancer, Maria has collaborated with Dimitris Papaioannou, Christos Papadopoulos, Lenio Kaklea, Sofia Mavragani, RootlessRoot dance company, and Euripides Laskaridis, performing at international festivals such as the Athens Epidaurus Festival, Festival Grec de Barcelona, Brigittines International Festival, Julidans, Festival de Otoño, Santiago a Mil, GIFT Festival, Perth Festival, Dampfzentrale, and Dublin Dance Festival.
In 2015, she was a member of Dimitris Papaioannou’s choreographic team for the opening ceremony of the first European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2017, she took part in the film “Suspiria,” directed by Luca Guadagnino with choreography by Damien Jalet. She has also contributed to the Medea Electronique collective, performing in the VR installation “RED|WHITE” (Thessaloniki International Film Festival, 2023), and appeared in the short film “Cabin 9” by Yannis Nikolaidis.
Maria Bregianni is a participant of the Onassis AiR Extended Research Residencies for 2025/26.
