Ilektra Bampicha-Ninou

Ilektra Bampicha-Ninou (b. 2004, Athens, Greece) is a creative technologist whose practice is rooted in the narrative arts. Primarily a writer and screenwriter, she holds a degree in Cognitive Narratology from Brown University, a foundation that informs her exploration of how immersive systems and interactive storytelling shape human experience. While her broader interests span film, performance, and digital media, her most recent research focuses on the intersection of narrative theory and the unreliability of memory.

Her work has been presented in various international contexts, and she has served as Head of VR & Immersive Competition at the Aegean Film Festival. She completed a semester abroad in the Honors program in Immersive Systems Design at The Glasgow School of Art, where she collaborated on a demo for a video game sequel based on an industry brief. Previously, she had developed “MAX”, an interactive performance satirizing conversational principles – a project that highlights her focus on the spaces where audiences become active participants.

During her technical residency at Onassis AiR, she intends to focus on the immersive design of music performances, bridging her background in creative writing with the technical and psychological thresholds of the live sonic experience.

Ilektra Bampicha-Ninou is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2026/27 through the Technical Residencies program.
