Camellia Rashidi
Camellia Rashidi is an Iranian-born visual artist whose creative journey began with drawing and animation at the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents (CIDCA / کانون پرورش فکری کودکان و نوجوانان) in Tehran. Storytelling through movement and light has been at the heart of her work ever since.
She later continued her path in France, where she was accepted into the ENSAV (École Nationale Supérieure d’Audiovisuel) film school in Toulouse. There, she explored cinematography as a language of emotion and earned a master’s degree in photography direction. Her practice weaves together film, performance, and the poetics of space.
Camellia has worked as a camera assistant on a range of short and feature films, as well as a stage manager and lighting designer, collaborating with circus artists, dancers, and opera productions across France. Since 2023, she has been part of the Flying Carpet Festival—the first mobile festival of circus, dance, and music for children in Türkiye—where she continues to nurture the connection between art and community.
In parallel, she writes and directs short films and visual pieces for musicians, choreographers, and circus performers, always seeking new forms of narrative where body, sound, and memory intersect.
Camellia Rashidi is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2025/26 through the Technical Residencies program.
