The Travels of the Onassis Stegi Touring Program: September – October 2026

First stop: Sarajevo, where Sofia Mavragani and Janis Rafa present “Horse Me” στο Sarajevo Fest on September 4. The performance we first encountered at Onassis Dance Days 2025 continues its international journey, championing the body’s right to remain unexplored, undefined, and untamed – a tribute to the creatures that have offered their lives in the service of humans.

Christos Papadopoulos's “My Fierce Ignorant Step” crosses three continents in under two months, confirming its place among the most significant dance productions currently touring internationally. From September 8 to 9, the work is presented at ο Torinodanza Festival in Geneva, Switzerland, continuing on September 12 and 13 to Torinodanza Festival in Turin, Italy. The tour then moves to Maison de la Danse in Lyon, France, from September 23 to 25, and to La Comédie de Clermont-Ferrand, France, from September 30 to October 1, before heading to Asia for the Shanghai International Arts Festival on October 16 and 17, and the Taipei National Theater from October 22 to 24. The next – and certainly not the last – stop is Canada, and more specifically Danse Danse in Montreal, from October 28 to 31.

A few months ahead of the Bloom Prize 2027 announcement, Chara Kotsali travels with her work “IT'S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE” to Düsseldorf’s tanzhaus nrw in Germany (September 12–19). She then heads to the Sirenos Festival in Vilnius, Lithuania, where it will be presented on October 5 alongside Mario Banushi's “MAMI” (October 2–3) and Dimitris Karantzas’s “The House” (October 8).

The participation of all three works in Vilnius’s Greek Focus confirms Onassis Stegi’s steady presence on the international festival circuit, as well as the strong presence of contemporary Greek artists abroad.

Mario Banushi's “MAMI” continues its international journey with two important appearances abroad. On September 23 and 24, the performance is presented at the World Theatre Festival in Zagreb, Croatia, and from October 10 to 12 it travels to Dublin, Ireland, for the Dublin Theatre Festival. Following the warm reception it received at international festivals and stages across Europe, the work continues to meet new audiences, establishing Banushi as one of the most talked-about emerging voices in European theater.

On September 27, the En Dynamei Group presents “Solar” at the MPArt Festival in Larissa – a performance-meditation on the things that keep us on our feet,, brought to life through the sheer power of six artists with and without disabilities, along with one question: Must the world be perfect in order to celebrate? The work was developed within the framework of the European program Europe Beyond Access, co-funded by the European Union.

A few weeks later, from October 21 to 23, Mariano Pensotti presents "A Voracious Shadow" at Thessaloniki’s Dimitria Festival. The performance premiered in March 2025 on the Onassis Stegi Upper Stage, starring acclaimed young-generation actors Giannis Niarros and Kostas Nikouli as climbers, actors, and sons living under the “voracious shadow” of a mountain, a career, and a father.

In Cyprus, Elena Antoniou presents “ODE” at the Cyprus Choreography Showcase in Limassol on September 20, while Xenia Koghilaki continues the international journey of “SLAMMING” with two further stops: Steirischer Herbst in Graz, Austria, on September 25, and OPEN HOUSE in Limassol, Cyprus, on October 2.

That same month, Fotini Stamatelopoulou presents “Near Misses” at the Spanski Borci cultural center in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from October 5 to 8, adding another stop to the work’s international tour.
