Mario Banushi’s “MAMI” is found at the center of attention, as it continues its international journey, having now received a major recognition: the Silver Lion Award at the Venice Theatre Biennale. This distinction seals the universal impact of Banushi’s work, granting even greater impetus to its presence on different world stages. From January 7 to 10, MAMI was presented at New York’s Under the Radar Festival, one of the most important festivals for contemporary experimental performance in the United States, receiving rave reviews from both the local and international press. Among other highlights, “MAMI” landed on the cover of the New York Times arts section, shortly before its New York premiere. Audience response was overwhelming, with sold-out performances and standing ovations from festivalgoers. “MAMI” stops next at Triennale Milano’s FOG Performing Arts Festival, on February 27 and 28.
At the same time, Christos Papadopoulos continues the international journey of “My Fierce Ignorant Step,” a work that has already traced a remarkable path across European stages. On January 8 and 9, it is presented at Warsaw’s Pavilion of Dance and Other Performative Arts, followed immediately by Teatro Municipal do Porto in Portugal. At every stop of the way, the work, first presented on the Main Stage of the Onassis Stegi in May 2025, continues to convey the optimistic, outward-looking, enchanting energy of living.

Following enthusiastic reviews and a deeply moving reception from the audience of the Onassis Stegi for a second year in a row, Tiago Rodrigues’s “Lovers’ Chorus,” starring Nikos Karathanos and Marisha Triantafyllidou, travels to the Thessaloniki Concert Hall from January 22 to 25, and then to Limassol’s Rialto Theatre from February 5 to 6. The work, first premiered on the Upper Stage of the Onassis Stegi in October 2024 and described by the Greek press as a “small theatrical gem,” a “miniature masterpiece,” and “a unique theatrical experience that will leave an indelible mark on the Athenian theatre scene,” continues to move audiences and critics alike with its explosive and tender poetic power.
Among the most widely touring productions consistently supported by the Onassis Stegi Touring Program, Ioanna Paraskevopoulou’s “MOS” stops on January 30 at Stereolux in Nantes, a venue operating at the intersection of performing arts, music, and digital practices. The distinguished choreographer, part of the internationally acclaimed “Aerowaves” dance platform, continues her intense international activity, carrying the sonic imprint of “MOS” from the Onassis New Choreographers Festival 9 to major theatres and stages across Europe.
On February 6 and 7, Chara Kotsali presents IT'S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE at Maillon, Théâtre de Strasbourg – Scène Européenne, one of the most important institutional hubs of the contemporary European scene, supporting international productions and emerging artists while strengthening collaborations across European theater networks.
Lastly, Christiana Kosiari travels with RUNWAY to the Junior Company of CND Luxembourg on February 28, placing her work within a context that directly engages with the world of contemporary dance and a new generation of performers.
