The Travels of the Onassis Stegi Touring Program | July–August 2026

On July 1, Efthymios Moschopoulos appears at Agora – Cité Internationale de la Danse in Montpellier to present his choreographic solo “FÁE.” At this major European hub for contemporary dance, and alongside other distinguished international artists, he sets out to articulate a new narrative about the instinctive missteps of coming of age.

“FÁE” premiered at the Onassis Dance Days 2026 festival at Onassis Stegi, while its dramaturgical research was supported by Onassis AiR.

At the same time, Chara Kotsali continues the impressive international journey of her work “IT’S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE,” with stops at Julidans in Amsterdam (July 3–4), ImPulsTanz in Vienna (July 30—August 1), and Tanz im August in Berlin (August 14–16).

In the wake of a technological and social revolution (that ultimately never happened), “IT’S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE” tells the emotional story of our shared present.

At the 32nd Kalamata International Dance Festival, three choreographers will present works that have premiered at Onassis Stegi, while offering their own responses to this year’s theme, which explores dance as an expression of human instability, uncertainty, endings, and new beginnings.

Throughout the festival, “All She Likes Is Popping Bubble Wrap,” the video work by Ioanna Paraskevopoulou, will be screened at the Kalamata Dance Megaron. This audiovisual performance explores the relationship between sound, image, and the body through archival film footage.

On July 20, Chara Kotsali will make a stopover in Kalamata with “IT’S THE END OF THE AMUSEMENT PHASE,” while on July 25, Konstantinos Papanikolaou presents “A USER’S MANUAL,” a lecture-performance that serves as a guide to understanding the often invisible, complex processes of choreographic creation.

In Vienna, from July 9 to 12, Christos Papadopoulos will present “My Fierce Ignorant Step” in ImPulsTanz, one of the world’s leading contemporary dance festivals. Meanwhile, on July 10, Katerina Andreou performs “BSTRD” at Santarcangelo Festival in Italy.

The next day, July 11, the En Dynamei Ensemble presents “Solar” at Akropoditi DanceFest on the island of Syros. Produced by Onassis Stegi, the work was created within the framework of Europe Beyond Access, the largest European network for accessibility in the performing arts, co-funded by the European Union.

The summer journey of the Onassis Stegi Touring Program concludes on August 29 at OperaEstate Festival in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, with two prominent figures in contemporary Greek dance.

Fotini Stamatelopoulou and Elena Antoniou present their works, “Near Misses” and “Ode” respectively, once again affirming the strong presence of contemporary Greek artists on the international stage. Both works premiered at Onassis Stegi as part of the Onassis Dance Days festival.
