WIPO x ONX Futures: IP in Motion
Turn Intellectual Property into creative strategy
Intellectual property (IP) is not only a legal framework, but also a way of understanding how ideas move, how creative work circulates, and how cultural production sustains itself over time.
WIPO x ONX Futures: IP in Motion is a specialized program focused on intellectual property for the creative and audiovisual industries. Designed for companies working across contemporary cultural production, the program supports participants in understanding, organizing, and activating their IP assets in ways that are practical, sustainable, and aligned with their growth.
Developed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in collaboration with Onassis ONX and under the auspices of the Hellenic Copyright Organization (OPI), the program offers a structured framework through which participating companies can explore key questions around authorship, rights, licensing, and exploitation, while also examining how Generative AI is reshaping the legal landscape.
IP in Motion is a tailor-made, free-of-charge WIPO IP Management Clinic that combines collective learning with one-to-one mentoring.
Implemented within the framework of ONX Futures: AI & Mixed Reality in Moving Image, the program is designed to support SMEs in building sustainable, customized IP strategies aligned with their business objectives and existing IP portfolios, thereby establishing a solid foundation for long-term growth and innovation.
Rather than focusing only on legal protection, the clinic explores how IP can function as a practical tool within creative workflows, shaping how projects are developed, shared, and sustained across different contexts, especially in the era of Generative AI.
The program runs from April to September 2026.
Participants will receive:
- 3 Individual mentoring sessions with specialized IP and legal experts (May to September 2026).
- Collective learning sessions on key IP management topics (April to July 2026).
- A public-facing event presented as part of ONX Showcase Athens 2026 on May 23, 2026.
- A final, tailored IP roadmap developed to meet the needs of each participating company. The roadmap is intended to serve as a practical tool for future decision-making, collaborations, and strategic growth.
- A closing online gathering to reflect on outcomes and future trajectories.
All sessions are delivered in English.

This program is addressed to SMEs and growing companies operating in the creative and audiovisual industries that want to strengthen the way they manage, protect, and activate their intellectual property.
It is particularly relevant for companies working in:
- Film, series, documentaries, animation, and moving image production
- Creative production and post-production services
- Cross-media and experience-driven storytelling
- Creative technology and innovation-led production environments
- Businesses developing original formats, content pipelines, or distinctive creative assets.
Applicants are not expected to be legal experts. What matters most is a willingness to reflect on how intellectual property can support the sustainability and development of their work.
Participating companies must be willing to share non-confidential information about their work, processes, and context to receive tailored guidance.
The clinic is particularly suited to companies with an active practice and at a stage where questions of ownership, collaboration, or expansion are becoming central.
As part of the program, WIPO x ONX Futures: IP in Motion includes a public event within the ONX Showcase, on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Conceived as a meeting point for professionals across IP, production, and innovation, the event will bring together contributors from WIPO, the Hellenic Copyright Organization (OPI), and invited guests from the field.
The event is implemented with the support of Smart Attica EDIH, co-funded by the European Union.
More information will be announced soon.
