Onassis AiR Theater & Dance Residencies

Onassis AiR Open Call 2026/27

The Onassis AiR Theater & Dance Residencies are addressed to directors, choreographers, dancers, dramaturgs, authors, playwrights, and other practitioners working in the wider fields of theater and dance arts.

In 2023, Onassis AiR launched the Dramaturgy Fellowships in collaboration with the Dramaturgy Department of Onassis Stegi, aiming to support the research and development of new performance-based works. Over the course of this two-year collaboration, several projects initiated during the residency went on to take shape on stage at Onassis Stegi and tour both in Greece and internationally.

Building on this experience, the 2026/27 Theater & Dance Residencies imagine new possibilities for research in the performing arts, aligned with the diversity of artistic processes supported by Onassis Culture.

Participants in this strand have access to a wide range of professional development opportunities, including capacity-building activities, personalized mentoring, and peer-to-peer feedback sessions, all aimed at further refining and advancing their work. As an entry point into the broader Onassis Culture ecosystem, these residencies also provide pathways for participants to present their work at Onassis Stegi, share in-progress projects with visiting curators, and connect with the international networks that Onassis Culture is part of.

For 2026/27, we invite performing arts professionals from Greece and internationally to submit proposals for the development of a new theater, dance, or other performing arts project that has not yet been presented.
