Mariano Pensotti | The Message (working title)

Last season, the acclaimed Argentinian playwright and theatre director Mariano Pensotti presented A Voracious Shadow on the Upper Stage of Onassis Stegi, staging the work for the first time with Greek actors Yiannis Niarros and Kostas Nikouli. This year, as A Voracious Shadow continues its journey to Thessaloniki through the Onassis Stegi Touring Program, Pensotti returns as an Onassis AiR Fellow to develop his new theatre project, with the working title "The Message".

The work follows the story of an actress who, during Argentina’s military dictatorship, is abducted and forced to star in a popular propaganda musical. Decades later, her daughter embarks on a journey to reconstruct her mother’s story, uncovering the complex and often contradictory terrain between complicity, resistance, and survival.
