Mariano Pensotti

Mariano Pensotti is an Argentine author and theater director.

He co-founded Grupo Marea with set designer Mariana Tirantte, musician Diego Vainer, and artistic producer Florencia Wasser.

His recent Works include “La Obra” (2023), “Los Años” (2021), “Diamante” (2018), “El Público” (2018/2020/2021), “Arde brillante en los bosques de la noche” (2017), “Cuando vuelva a casa voy a ser otro” (2015), “Cineastas” (2013), “El pasado es un animal grotesco” (2011), and “La Marea.”

All of his productions have been presented in Argentina and at numerous festivals and theaters around the world.

In March 2019, he premiered his first opera as a director, “Beatrix Cenci,” at the Opéra National du Rhin (Strasbourg, France). In June 2021, he premiered his second, “Madame Butterfly,” at the same venue, and again in 2024 at the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen (Antwerp, Belgium).
