Introduction
Music is communication. It is joy itself, and a means of interaction. It strikes a most tender chord inside us all, but especially in children. The popular “Music Loves Autism” educational program is back for another year – a tool for every professional working with children on the broader autism spectrum, creating a doorway towards interaction and connection, fun and expressing emotions. One that is opened up using musical notes and rhythms.
Are you a special education sector professional? Do you work with children with and without autism spectrum disorder (ASD)? If you’re looking for a tried-and-tested tool to unlock and unleash children’s abilities, their emotional and sensory expression, and their communication and social skills, then sign yourself up for this experiential workshop.
The success of the Onassis Foundation’s “Music Loves Autism” educational program, which has been running for eleven years now, gave rise to the creation of a workshop that will give all interested professionals the tools they need to bring mixed groups of children –with and without ASD– in contact with music.Learn how you can offer an enjoyable group music experience that encourages self-expression, develops social skills, and fosters emotional maturity in each child. Bring children in touch with music and lead them into an environment that is positive and beneficial for both them and their families.
