Zisis Bliatkas
Zisis Bliatkas (1992, Thessaloniki, Greece) is an artist whose practice centers on painting and the use of obsolete digital painting software. His work examines the translation of digital images into material forms, exploring questions of surface, support, and the material conditions of the image.
He holds a BA from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts in Florina, and an MFA from the Athens School of Fine Arts. He is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Systematic Philosophy at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Bliatkas has presented solo exhibitions at Rebecca Camhi Gallery and OKAY Initiative Space (Athens), and Lydian Stater (New York), and has participated in group shows at MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts and the French Institute of Thessaloniki, among others. He is a member and curator of the inclusive artists’ collective En Dynamei, and teaches as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Fine and Applied Arts in Florina, Greece. He lives and works in Naoussa, Greece.
