BIO

Vicky Tsirou (Athens, 1994) is an independent curator, art writer, and researcher, working at the intersection of contemporary art, spatial practices, and critical theory. She studied art history and theory at the Athens School of Fine Arts (BA) and pursued postgraduate studies in the interdisciplinary program “Research in Architecture: Design – Space – Culture” (MSc) at the National Technical University of Athens.

Her research focuses on the concepts of the commons and public space, participatory art formats, and environmental issues – areas she has also explored through the curation of solo and group exhibitions. She is the author of the art publication “BURR” (2023), while her texts have been published in art exhibition catalogues.

She has worked as Assistant to the Artistic Director and Education Coordinator at the cultural organization PCAI, as well as assistant curator, cultural mediator, and production coordinator in major cultural institutions in Greece and Italy, including the US Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, documenta 14, the Marina Abramović Institute, UNESCO Athens World Book Capital, the Museum of Cycladic Art, and the 4th Athens Biennale.

She was a fellow of the Whitechapel Gallery–NEON Curator Exchange Program in London (2018) and the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation “Care Ecologies” residency program. She has also participated in the cross-disciplinary programs “Geology and Cultural Heritage” at the UNESCO Vikos–Aoos Global Geopark (2025) and “Public Open Spaces & Climate Change Mitigation” at the University of Pavia, Italy (2025). In 2026, she was selected for the ARC Athens NOLA/NYC Research Fellowship to further develop her curatorial research in New Orleans and New York.
