Stephanos Droussiotis

Stephanos Droussiotis was born in Cyprus. He is a theater artist working mainly in stage direction, lighting design, and music editing. He studied piano at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and theater at the University of Athens. Since 2014, he has been working closely with Dimitris Papaioannou, editing the music and creating lighting designs for most of his productions. He was honored with the Bessie Award for Outstanding Visual Design (New York, 2023) for the lighting of the work “Transverse Orientation”. As a lighting designer, he has also collaborated with artists such as Christos Papadopoulos, Euripides Laskaridis, and Mario Banushi, as well as with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. He has built an international presence as a lighting designer, with his work presented at some of the most important venues around the world.

Stephanos Droussiotis is an Onassis AiR Fellow for 2026/27.
