Panagiotis Aivazidis is a skilled qanun player hailing from Serres, Greece. He graduated from the Serres Music School with an honorary scholarship and then enrolled in the Department of Music Science and Art at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, where he began his undergraduate studies specializing in qanun (aka kanonaki) under the guidance of Anastasia Zachariadou, a Berklee graduate. He has been active on the Greek music scene since 2008, participating in numerous concerts and festivals in Greece and Europe. In 2016, he began his undergraduate studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he completed his degree in Music Performance. At Berklee, he studied with renowned teachers such as Simon Shaheen, Christiane Karam, Beth Bahia Cohen, Alain Mallet, and Mitch Haupers, among others. Active in the Boston music scene, he plays with the Anatoliama Ensemble, the Muscari Band, and other groups. He has collaborated with the Hellenic Institute, the Consulate General of Greece in Boston, the Hellenic College Holy Cross, Psaltikon, the Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies, the Music Department of Tufts University, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
