Jan Kounen

Dutch-born French filmmaker Jan Kounen graduated from ENSAD (École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs) in Nice. Kounen traveled across Mexico for several years and undertook an in-depth exploration of shamanic cultures. This research was focused on works including his documentary “Other Worlds” (2005). His feature film “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky” was presented at the 2009 Cannes International Film Festival. Kounen is furthermore known for “Blueberry, l’expérience secrete” (2004), his feature-length debut “Dobermann” (1997), and the short film “Vibroboy” (1994).
