Evis Sammoutis

Evis Sammoutis is Assistant Professor of Composition at Ithaca College, NY, Artistic Director of the Pharos Arts Foundation International Contemporary Music Festival and External Research Associate at European University Cyprus. He also served as a member of the Executive Board of the International Music Council and as a Council member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires/Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen. His works have been performed in more than 40 countries and awarded over 35 compositional awards to date (including the Royal Philharmonic Society Award, the Irino Prize and the Andres Segovia Prize). They were commissioned by prestigious organizations worldwide (such as the Venice Biennale, Klangspuren Festival and ARD) and performed by some of today’s leading ensembles.
