During the residency, Ι will continue to explore and create photographic and physical art content to depict the cultural side of a forgotten area in northern Greece: Serres.

Serres is an impoverished region of Greece, full of traditions, religion, and clandestine movements.

The fact that my family comes from there granted me several keys to open doors and shoot moments or people that have never been visible.

During the last five years, I’ve been spending most of my time in my parents’ village Mavrothalassa, to stay close and create connections with people, as well as to be part of the cultural movement of the region of Serres.

By being part of this residency, I will finally complete my first photography book and artworks that I created with local workers, and show some videos, texts, and audios I “stole” during the intense moments that I experienced there.
