In her series titled “Heirlooms”, the artist works with Super 8 film or an analog camera, choosing media that do not allow correction. She works alone, without a crew, mostly at the end of the day and in the early evening, when the light dims and the city takes on a different intensity. Through this process, the artist explores the urban topography of Athens, capturing sculptures, objects, and elements that carry political or historical weight. She focuses on what lies at the edge: places and forms that seem ready to be lost or forgotten. The film offers a distinctive texture and an indeterminate, almost poetic, sense of time. As she films or photographs, she is accompanied by thoughts of music from the Greek scene of the ’80s—an internal, personal sonic landscape that cannot be heard but exists.
