By his will, Aristotle Onassis appointed Alexanders mother, Athina (Tina) Livanos, to be the first President of the Foundations Board of Directors.
In view of the fact that Athina Livanos predeceased Aristotle Onassis, who did not replace her by another person before his own death, in 1975 the executors of the will appointed Christina Onassis as the first President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, a position she held until her own death in 1988.
Stelio Papadimitriou was the personal lawyer of Aristotle Onassis - from 1953 and until the death of the latter - and of Christina Onassis too, instructor of Alexander Onassis on business matters, legal adviser of Olympic Airways, first President of Olympic Aviation, Secretary of the Board of Directors of all the companies of Aristotle Onassis and Executive Director of his shipping companies. By his will, Aristotle Onassis appointed him as one of the executors of his will, a founding member of the Foundation and a life member of its Board of Directors. In 1988 he was elected as President of the Business Foundation and in 1992 as President of the Public Benefit Foundation too, an office he held until June 30, 2005. He was one of the executors of the will of Christina Onassis and member of the Board of Administration of her minor daughters patrimony.
In December 1988, Professor Ioannis Georgakis, a life member until then, was elected President of the Board of Directors of the Public Benefit Foundation only, a position he held until his retirement in 1992.
Among other things, he was also Professor of Criminal Law at the Senior School of Political Science at Panteion University, a Regular Member of the Academy of Athens, President of the Executive Committee of Olympic Airways, President of the Greek Tourism Organisation, Rector of the Senior School of Political Science at Panteion University, President of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture and Ambassador at Large. He died in 1993.
