The Onassis Scholars’ Association invites you to two special performances presented by its alumni.
20:00 “Ithaca” by Dimitris Dimitriadis
Odysseus returns to his homeland, but not with love. He returns worn down by war – aggressive and destructive. His hate rains down on all Ithaca, an island that is personified on stage. Reliving moments from his painful return, Ithaca calls on audiences to take part in a rite of catharsis.
Directed by: Elena Timblalexi, With: Maria Kechagioglou, Sound & Lighting Design – Video Art: Dimitris Karnavas
Duration: 50΄
21.20 “Edit”, a stage work by the Atomic No 6 theater company
Christos is a man of our times. He has let himself go, reaching 33 years of age without asking any questions of himself or expressing any doubts. Without ever thinking if his choices give him pleasure, or if they are even his choices at all. One evening, out of the blue, at the end of a bad day – which is, however, like any other day – something troubles him about his behavior. A thought unsettles him, throws him into doubt and, in the end, sparks him into action. An angry, runaway monologue set against our own selves, on everything that might still have some truth.
Conceived and directed by: Daphne Giannoulatou, Production Manager: Teta Apostolaki, Video & Graphic Design: Ersi Giannoulatou, Soundscapes: Konstantinos Papadopoulos, With: Giorgos Tsourmas, Original text by: Mirka Stratigopoulou
Duration: 20'
