Selected paintings by Greek painters from the collections of the National Gallery will inspire the composition of new works.

There is no prescription regarding the interaction and transformation of colour into sound, or on the representational potential of music with regard to visual representation. Composers are free to draw inspiration from the works, and make their own choices.

The paintings will solely act as a starting point, without any wish for academic research, unleashing the revelation of new musical worlds through gazing at works of visual art.
