Introduction

What is a DIY electronic musical instrument? Artists-coaches/instructors jam with us making music out of up-to-date technology.

Using anything that can generate music, the whole class becomes a band in creative heat. Have you ever built a musical instrument? Do you know you can create music with nothing but basic/simple gadgets?

Our band will hack different objects and devices, while digital technology joins the game. We will explore the way every sound is produced, create our own magical soundscapes and see everyday objects with new eyes and compose original cords.

After we design and make these new musical instruments, along with the Onassis Stegi specialists and the British De Montfort University experts, we will start rehearsing for the concert to be presented in front of our friends, parents and teachers.

Workshop for teachers
A workshop aimed at primary educators will take place at Onassis Stegi as part of the programme “DIY: Making our own musical instruments” (October 2018).
