An encounter between three restless travellers of the musical underground with the Giza pyramids as a background; they bring together their experiences in euphoric, psychedelic mantras.

Three experienced musicians come together, each one with a long and special path in the vast world of underground music. Alan Bishop from the USA, Sam Shalabi from Canada, and Maurice Louca from Egypt met at an apartment building in East Agouza, Cairo, where they have been permanently living for the last years. In their night jam sessions, their musical instincts are free to unravel the plasticity of the sound of the Dwarfs of East Agouza.

Given their mutual love for Arab music, and taking improvisation as their starting point, they achieve a rare musical encounter: from the centre of the Arab world to the German kraut rock of the 1970s; from Egypt to space; and from the present to the depths of primordial rhythm. Their mystical sound can be heard in their debut album “Bes” (Nawa Recordings). Released in spring 2016, it received excellent reviews in important media of the international musical press.
