Entrance to all the events in the “Talks and Thoughts” Cycle is free and on a first come, first served basis.
The distribution of entrance tickets begins one (1) hour before each event.

The C.P. Cavafy seminar series will continue for a second year at the Onassis Stegi.

The primary focus of this year’s seminars will be Cavafy’s interactions with other writers and movements, as well as a general thematic approach to his poetry.

This year’s seminars will be led by:

Takis Kagialis (Professor of Modern Greek Literature, University of Ioannina): “Cavafy and history in the era of the British Empire”

Lizy Tsirimokou (Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki): “Cavafy and decay”

Gina Politi (Professor Emeritus in English literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki): “Cavafy, Victorian ethics and a literature of decline”

Eleni Papargyriou (researcher, King's College, London): “Cavafy and the image (painting, photography)”

Foteini Dimirouli (researcher, University of Oxford): “Cavafy and English literature: Forster, Durrell, Auden, Merrill”

Dimitris Papanikolaou & Thodoris Chiotis: “Cavafy and the multiple interrelations in his work”
