Three days of daring collaborations between Greek and foreign musicians highlighting the openness, vigour, and spirit of the Greek jazz scene. Even though this is the sixth Panorama, many things will take place for the first time...

This year’s Panorama aims to be one of the most important ones. Through collaborations between musicians, it tries out original and imaginative combinations, aiming at the creation of original works and ensembles.

Three important musicians, renowned throughout Europe, come together on stage for the first time for a unique performance of improvisation. These are George Kontrafouris and Nikos Anadolis from Greece, and Aki Rissanen from Finland. Their encounter constitutes a musical event in itself. The two of them, Giorgos Kontrafouris and Nikos Anadolis, played as a trio for the first time with Alexandros Orfanos at the Lost in Jazz festival in Tsagarada, Pelion, in 2015.

This is also the first time that the Berlin-based trio Grix (Floros Floridis, Antonis Anisegos, and Yorgos Dimitriadis) work with the wonderful vocalist Lucia Paleologou, who loves to try out new paths of sound. Grix creatively persists in exploring the limits of contemporary music improvisation.

This three-day event will end with the international trio of Spyros Manesis, which rightfully holds a place in contemporary European scene due to its apotheosis of melody, virtuosity, and the compositional abilities characteristic of the work of Manesis and his trio.
