What sound does a pitchfork make? How can a hot water bottle and a metal sheet create sound effects for a film? An interactive audio-visual performance which transports children into the magical world of foley—the art of adding sounds to the cinematic image using everyday objects. In the pioneering sound workshop, which looks more like a domestic kitchen or store room than a studio, children encounter a range of utility objects rather than musical instruments: pots and pans, whistles, staplers, horns, fruit, vegetables, balloons, ball bearings, packs of cards, springs, bicycle bells, hosepipes, typewriters, roller-skates and a whole lot more.
The performance was presented as part of Big Bang Festival 2 on 21-22.05.2016 at Onassis Stegi.
