Vaggelis Manolopoulos

Vaggelis Manolopoulos has studied Psychology (BSc) and holds an MSc in Sport Psychology. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His working experience includes collaborations with sport clubs and federations and research centers, while his research interests concern sport performance’s topics such as mental fatigue and motivation, as well as social issues such as violence in sports. Since 2018, he has been working in Organization Earth as Programs Manager of “Hope Sports,” Organization Earth’s initiative for using sports as a social tool.

Organization Earth is a Greek NGO dedicated to promote sustainable development in urban areas. “Hope Sports” initiative designs and implements projects and activities using sports as a vehicle for a positive social change, as a tool for empowering people and fostering the integration process. The activities are mainly focused on refugee populations; however, a number of initiatives has kicked off aiming to empower people with intellectual disabilities through sport participation, as well as raising climate awareness through sports.
