Spyros Christoforatos

Spyros Christoforatos was born in Athens in 1993 and grew up on the island of Kefalonia. He studied Film and Audiovisual Arts in the Department of Music and Audiovisual Arts at Ionian University. In 2019, as part of his graduation project, he directed his first film, “Garden of Oblivion,” an anthropological documentary based on the theory of observational cinema. A year later, together with his brother, Gerasimos, he co-directed the short documentary “Cornucopia,” a work inspired by Anton Chekhov’s short story “The Reed Pipe” (aka “The Pipe”). Since 2017, he has worked on the production of dozens of short and feature-length films in various capacities. His second short fiction film, titled “Jamal,” is currently in pre-production. His latest film, “Dreams of Copper,” with a screenplay by Isidoros Rostadakis that was awarded at the Athens Pitching Lab of the Drama International Film Festival in October 2024, was completed in March 2026 and is currently being submitted to film festivals around the world.
